Merrynewon Launches Wash-Care Aluminium Bottle Range Built for Both Single SKUs and Complete Hair & Body Sets

2026-11-02

200–600ml and above, multiple bottle shapes and pump options, gloss or matte finishes, with custom logo printing, colour matching and matching gift boxes

Wash-care packaging is going through its second migration. The first moved the category from bar to liquid; the second is moving it from plastic to mono-material. Body wash, shampoo and conditioner take up most of the space on a bathroom shelf, and they have belonged to PET and HDPE for decades. With refill models now mainstream, single-use plastics leaving hotel bathrooms, and EU packaging rules tightening around recyclability and reduction, brands are re-examining the container that is most used and hardest to change.

Merrynewon today introduces its wash-care aluminium bottle range, developed for body wash, shampoo and conditioner. The range covers 200–600ml and above, offers multiple bottle shapes and multiple pump options, and is available in gloss or matte body finishes, with custom logo printing, colour matching and matching gift boxes.

One range, two product logics

The range was designed around two ways of buying, so brands can pick the one that matches their shelf strategy.

Single-series packaging uses one bottle shape, one finish and one colour family, with shampoo, conditioner and body wash differentiated only by label or print. This suits brands at launch: one mould, one material run and one production line put three SKUs on shelf together, keeping packaging inventory and purchasing cost under control.

Complete wash-care sets unify colour, print and finish across all three categories in a single project, with bottle shapes assigned by function — for example, shampoo and body wash in one shape and conditioner in a shape that is easier to press — so the three read as one group on shelf. For brands already selling into hotels, guest houses, gifting and corporate bulk channels, this logic is closer to how the product is actually sold.

For complete sets, the range supports matching gift boxes. Inner fitments are slotted to the bottle count, bottle height and total pump height, and box finishing is aligned with the bottle finish, so the visual language holds from the bottle through to the outer carton.

From 200ml upward, with no ceiling

Capacities cover 200ml, 250ml, 300ml, 400ml, 500ml and 600ml, and can be extended upward for project-specific formats. The range maps onto three real use cases: 200–300ml for travel and hotel amenity sizes; 400–500ml for household use and the core e-commerce listing; 600ml and above for bulk household packs, salon sizes and refill formats.

Neck size and pump are matched to capacity, so a small bottle is not paired with a high-output pump that dispenses too much per stroke.

Pumps and shapes: options, not exceptions

Multiple pump options are available, covering the two mainstream dispensing types — lotion pumps and foam pumps — with closure design, output and dip-tube length matched to product viscosity and bottle height. For medium-viscosity formulas such as shampoo and body wash, a lotion pump is the default; for body washes meant to foam on dispensing, or for children's lines, a foam pump removes the lathering step for the consumer.

Bottle shapes are equally open, from standard cylinders to shaped profiles built for grip and shelf recognition. Changing shape within the same capacity does not require redefining the pump specification, so brands extending a line do not have to re-validate sealing and dispensing for every additional SKU.

Gloss and matte: two finish languages, one production line

Bottle bodies are available in gloss or matte finishes. Gloss emphasises reflection and colour saturation, which suits high-saturation colour systems used as the primary brand cue and reads well in e-commerce main images. Matte suppresses reflection and gives a finer hand feel, which suits low-saturation natural palettes and premium grooming positioning, and photographs without the glare spots that light boxes produce.

Both finishes combine with screen printing, offset printing and labels. Screen-printed ink sits softer against a matte body, while metallic inks on a gloss body hold a mirror-like quality — the same artwork reads two different ways across the two finishes, and that difference can be confirmed at the sampling stage.

Colour, logo and gift box: packaging as one visual system

Body colour is matched to brand specifications, either held consistent across categories or stepped by benefit line. The brand logo can be printed on the bottle, the pump and the gift box, and the pump can be colour-matched to the body, avoiding the mismatch of a premium bottle with a mismatched pump.

Gift boxes are structurally customised: inner fitments are slotted to the bottle shape, and box styles include hinged lid, two-piece lid-and-base and drawer formats, with box finishing aligned to the body finish. For gifting, seasonal sets and hotel amenity programmes, the box is often what carries the premium on the whole set.

Compliance and sustainability: the practical advantage of mono-material

Aluminium is a mono-material, infinitely recyclable, and well served by established sorting and recycling infrastructure — a more easily verified basis for reduction and recyclability claims. For brands selling into the EU, the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) and the Empowering consumers for the Green Transition Directive (ECGT) raise the evidentiary bar for terms such as "recyclable" and "eco-friendly," and mono-material structures are generally simpler to document under that scrutiny.
